Ian Francis Slim Seat Cutter

The Ian Francis Slim Seat Cutter was developed with and for Ian to be a close contact saddle, with a deep seat pocket and a good rise in front. This saddle has a narrow grip in the seat but will fit a good range of horses from narrow Quarter horse types to average Quarter horses.

We find this saddle suits people coming from stock saddles or people with shorter or thicker legs, as apposed to a 6 foot tall skinny person.

We have taken all the bulk out from under the leg to allow as close a contact as possible.

The swell is of medium height which gives the rider security to push them self back and down in the saddle. The stirrups are set so when you put weight down to your feet they push you back in the seat, not tip you forward with your feet going behind you! This give you a great amount of balance and security in the saddle.

This saddle can be made with an “intree”padding that I have developed in my tree making process. This gives a seat with some padding. It is not soft but gives some cushioning to relive the hard area under your pin bones, with out altering the shape of the seat.
